Multidisciplinary Visual Artist  Brooklyn, New York

My work invites people to see the familiar differently by exploring how shifting the meanings we attach to it can renew our appreciation for what we often take for granted and expand our sense of what is possible. Through reinterpretation, I reconnect us with what we may have forgotten, bring attention to what we overlook, and reveal possibilities that have been there all along. Working across image-making, collage, objects, sound, movement, and experimental storytelling, I draw from memory, culture, symbols, and everyday experiences to build stories and imagined worlds.

Through these explorations, I consider how the way we see and interpret the world shapes what we believe is possible, and how reimagining what already exists can open pathways toward what we have yet to create.

There are many tomorrows

There Are Many Tomorrows is an evolving multidisciplinary art project that revisits the characters, stories, images, and cultural references that shaped my imagination and asks what else they can become. I am interested in what happens when we return to these references with the tools, experiences, and perspectives we have today. Not simply to recreate them, but to understand what they awakened in us and explore how we might live out, embody, and extend the things that inspired us. In revisiting the 1972 film Trouble Man, I became drawn to the resolve and resourcefulness of its central character. There was something in his manner of being that spoke to the heart and resourcefulness required to bring into existence what we need. Through 3D rendering and image-making, I use the character as a starting point for imagining how his world, qualities, and possibilities might be extended into other forms. I approach references like Captain Planet in a similar way, reimagining the character as Captain Heal the Planet and exploring what it might mean to translate a childhood idea about caring for the planet into something culturally relevant to my life and community. A phrase like “If Not Us, Then Who?” can become more than a slogan. It can become a collective charge, potentially extending into systems, directories, community pods, and other ways of turning imagination into participation and action. Across 3D rendering, digital collage, animation, sound, character development, interactive media, and world-building, I explore how the references that shaped us can be reinvigorated and given fuller worlds to exist within. Colors of Bed-Stuy

Colors of Bed-Stuy is an evolving multidisciplinary project rooted in the practice of observing and interpreting the visual character of Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. The project explores the colors, textures, clothing, architecture, light, and everyday moments that shape my experience of the neighborhood. I am interested in how these observations can become a visual language and how a place can be experienced through color, mood, movement, and atmosphere. The work takes the form of photography, color studies, 3D-rendered posters, motion and animation, poetry, and web-based interactive experiments. The interactive work allows these observations to become navigable, with colors and visual elements connected to particular parts of the neighborhood, moments, or moods. A dominant color, for example, can become a code or visual block that invites the viewer to explore what that color evokes and how it relates to the environment from which it was observed. The project is influenced by my early relationship with the web and its possibilities for creating interactive visual experiences. I am interested in bringing that sensibility into a lived, physical environment and exploring how a neighborhood can become something that is not only documented, but navigated, interpreted, and experienced.
